Ericsson has deepened its collaboration with SoftBank Corp. SoftBank has a new deal to provide 4G and 5G network gear and solutions. As part of this partnership, Ericsson will be a key vendor for SoftBank’s radio equipment. They will boost networks in many parts of Japan. This includes Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Hokuriku, Tokai, and parts of Kansai.
The agreement involves deploying Ericsson Radio System products. These will cover low, mid, and high-frequency bands. This will boost SoftBank’s 4G and 5G capabilities. We will focus on expanding 5G Standalone coverage. We will also add advanced automation and AI-driven improvements to our operations.
Hideyuki Tsukuda, Executive Vice President and CTO at SoftBank Corp., stated: “SoftBank will promote network enhancement with a focus on 5G Standalone deployment and AI utilization, delivering an outstanding user experience for both enterprise and consumer customers in Japan. We are confident that adopting Ericsson’s advanced radio technology will further accelerate the enhancement of our network’s quality and operational efficiency with AI.”
