Shikoku Electric Power Group’s telecommunications construction company, Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc., headquartered in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, provides a wide range of telecommunications facility construction and system implementation to local governments and companies in the Shikoku region. One of the company’s clients, Yusuhara Town, Takaoka District, Kochi Prefecture, introduced and is operating a monitoring system as part of an elderly-friendly town development initiative to allow residents to live safely in their familiar neighborhoods. However, the conventional system posed issues of high renewal costs and the personnel burden of operation.
