Dropbox Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of Dropbox, Inc. announced that it has opened an official Dropbox Japan account on the social media platform “note” dedicated to sharing information about AI. Through this account, Dropbox will share a variety of stories, including how AI can improve business efficiency, behind-the-scenes stories of AI product development, and views on AI security.
Dropbox has been integrating LLM and AI technologies into its various products for several years to continuously improve the user experience. In June 2023, the company announced the AI-powered universal search and knowledge management product “Dropbox Dash” and released a beta version in the United States. Since then, Dropbox has continued to expand its AI capabilities. In the April 2025 update, Dropbox added advanced video and image search capabilities across platforms connected to Dropbox Dash, as well as dedicated AI tools for document creation, analysis, and summarization. It also strengthened security features, allowing centralized management of access permissions and the exclusion of sensitive information from search results.
By opening the official note account to coincide with World Productivity Day on June 20th, Dropbox will work in conjunction with its existing official blog, Dropbox-navi, to actively share insights and knowledge about using AI to improve productivity, and contribute to the ongoing work style reform efforts of knowledge workers across Japan.
