Space BD Inc., which provides comprehensive services in the space industry, has obtained a comprehensive export license for exporting artificial satellites. With this license, we will start a new “One-Stop Service for Transporting Artificial Satellites” in addition to the “Application Agency Service for Air Transport of Artificial Satellites” that has been provided since October 9, 2024.
In recent years, the development of the space industry has diversified the means of launching artificial satellites, and when launching them outside the country of development, the satellite must be transported overseas. Transporting a satellite outside of Japan is considered an “export from Japan,” and in most cases the satellite manufacturer becomes the exporter, and application procedures must be in accordance with the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act and other related laws.
We have acquired a comprehensive export license for exporting satellites overseas, taking advantage of our extensive track record of providing various launch methods in our core launch service business and our knowledge of overseas transportation to establish a system for streamlining and speeding up administrative procedures related to exports. The application of this export license will enable us to improve the speed and efficiency of our entire export business under an operational system established by us in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. As a result, as long as it is within the scope of the comprehensive export license, we will be able to carry out the application as the exporter, and will be able to undertake all the procedures required for exporting satellites in one stop, significantly reducing the operational burden on satellite manufacturers and supporting them so that they can export overseas with peace of mind.

This service is an expansion of the “application agency service for air transportation of satellites” that we launched in October 2024. In addition to providing support to the relevant authorities regarding dangerous goods in air transportation, we will utilize the blanket export license we have obtained this time to provide a “one-stop transportation service” that handles all the procedures required by the relevant authorities for transporting satellites overseas.
Through this service, we will not only provide satellite developers with a variety of launch methods, but also build a system that can support smooth launches.
