The cloud-based human resources and labor management software “SmartHR” operated by SmartHR Co., Ltd. has been introduced by Kintetsu Railway Co., Ltd. and Kintetsu Group Holdings Co., Ltd.
The Kintetsu Group, with Kintetsu Group Holdings Co., Ltd. as its holding company, is engaged in a variety of businesses related to daily life, including transportation, real estate, international logistics, distribution, and hotels and leisure. Among them, Kintetsu Railway Co., Ltd. is one of the core companies of the Kintetsu Group, with a line length of over 500 km, the longest among private railways in Japan, spanning two prefectures and three cities in the Kinki and Tokai regions, and playing a variety of roles such as intercity transportation, tourist transportation, suburban transportation, and regional transportation.
Kintetsu Railway Co., Ltd. currently has approximately 8,000 employees, and up until now, employment contracts and other joining procedures, information applications from employees, and notifications from the company to employees were all handled on paper, placing a heavy burden on the human resources and labor personnel in each department. In addition, employee-specific information such as performance evaluations, training attendance history, and career requests was managed separately using spreadsheet software, and the efficiency of application procedures and extraction of employee information were issues.

With “SmartHR,” employees can apply via their own smartphones or PCs, allowing HR and labor personnel to manage the necessary information online in a paperless manner. By centrally managing the latest employee information online, the necessary information can be extracted instantly, greatly streamlining the operation and management of employee information and application procedures. In addition, the “Notification Function” on the employee portal, which is the home screen of “SmartHR,” allows the company to send timely information to employees. For this reason, it was highly praised as a front-line system that connects companies and employees to directly inform and disseminate the company’s latest systems and philosophy to employees.
In addition, the introduction of “SmartHR” at Kintetsu Railway Co., Ltd. prompted the decision to also introduce it at Kintetsu Group Holdings Co., Ltd., which uses the same HR core system as Kintetsu Railway Co., Ltd. Going forward, we will continue to support the Kintetsu Group in improving productivity through HR and labor operations.
