IIJ Introduces Enterprise PostgreSQL Managed Cloud DB

Internet Initiative Japan Inc. ( IIJ ) announced on the 15th that it will begin offering PostgreSQL as part of its cloud-based database service, the "IIJ Managed Database Service." Based on the open-source software (OSS) PostgreSQL, the service offers fully managed database functionality with enhanced security, reliability, and support for enterprises. IIJ Managed Database Service is a fully managed cloud database service that provides easy access to high-performance databases. While the service previously offered Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server , it now also offers the enterprise version of PostgreSQL. The service facilitates migration from on-premises PostgreSQL, allows users to continue using PostgreSQL database functions after migration, and offers lower licensing costs compared to standard commercial products.
