Kioxia Prototypes 5TB, 64GB/s high-bandwidth flash module

Kioxia Corporation has successfully prototyped a flash memory module. This module has a capacity of 5 terabytes (TB) and a bandwidth of 64 gigabytes per second (GB/s). This is a major step in meeting the needs of advanced AI and next-gen networks. Developed through Japan’s NEDO-supported “Post-5G Information and Communication Systems Infrastructure Enhancement R&D Project,” this innovation aims to bridge the performance gap between traditional DRAM modules and large-scale computing needs. The prototype uses a daisy chain of flash memory chips. It has new high-speed transceiver tech. It supports 128 gigabits per second (Gbps).
