Renesas Unveils RZ/G3E MPU for AI-Driven HMI Systems

Renesas Electronics has launched its new 64-bit RZ/G3E microprocessor. This chip is built for high-performance Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems. It excels in AI acceleration and edge computing. The RZ/G3E features a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 processor, a Cortex-M33 core, and an Ethos-U55 Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This setup allows efficient local AI tasks like image classification, voice recognition, and anomaly detection, while also easing the CPU load. This MPU supports Full HD video at 60 frames per second on two displays. It features interfaces like LVDS, MIPI-DSI, and parallel RGB. There’s also a MIPI-CSI input for camera integration. Its fast connectivity options- PCIe 3.0, USB 3.2 Gen2, and dual Gigabit Ethernet—make it great for both industrial and consumer HMI uses. This includes factory automation, healthcare devices, and retail systems. Also…
