Murata Debuts World’s First XBAR Filter for 5G Networks

Murata Manufacturing has started mass production and shipment of the world’s first high-frequency filter. This filter uses XBAR technology. It is a big step forward in wireless communication components. Murata teamed up with Resonant Inc. to create a filter. This filter blends Murata's Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) expertise with XBAR technology. This filter offers low insertion loss, high attenuation, and wide bandwidth. These features support today's wireless standards like 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7, and future 6G. Global demand for fast, high-capacity wireless networks is growing. Traditional filters like LTCC and BAW have limits in performance and size. Murata’s XBAR filter solves these problems. It uses comb-shaped electrodes on a piezoelectric single-crystal thin film.
