Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) announced that Takeshi Koga has been appointed as its new Country Manager for Japan, effective June 15, 2026, in order to further expand its business and strengthen its structure in the Japanese market. In addition, to further strengthen its commitment to the Japanese market, Strategy will be relocating its head office to “Akasaka Green Cross” and commencing operations there from July 1, 2026.
Our company boasts a history of over 30 years as a dedicated Business Intelligence (BI) vendor, with our Japanese office established in 2003. In 2025, we rebranded as “Strategy,” and in 2022, we entered a new stage as the world’s first AI-powered data utilization platform. In today’s market, where the impact of AI on data and analytics is expanding, the semantic layer, which has been our strength since our founding, is once again attracting significant attention.
In recent years, many companies have faced challenges such as data silos and AI hallucination. To address these issues, we have announced a “Universal Semantic Layer” that works in any environment. This technology enhances data reliability as a company’s “single data source” and has the following features:
A single, reliable definition available anywhere.
- Open and free from vendor lock-in
- AI-powered data reduces hallucination
- Governance for the AI Era

This new organizational structure and relocation to a new office represent a strategic investment to further strengthen our commitment to our customers in the rapidly evolving Japanese market and to transform our business from a mere BI vendor into a comprehensive data utilization platform.
Michael Trinder, Vice President of Strategy Asia Pacific, commented: “Koga’s long track record of leadership will bring great value to strengthening Strategy Japan as it enters a new stage. We believe he will contribute to improving our customers’ business value in data analytics, where the use of AI will continue to expand.”
Comment from Tsuyoshi Koga: “As AI redefines the way business is conducted, I see limitless potential in Strategy’s platform, which has a 30-year history and a ‘universal semantic layer’ that guarantees data reliability. Leveraging our experience, we will further strengthen our relationships with our wonderful customers and partners in Japan. Our new office, opening on July 1st, will be a new challenge space that fosters innovation across departments. From this new environment, our new team will work together to contribute to data-driven management and sustainable growth for Japanese companies.”
