Proofpoint, a leader in cybersecurity, will acquire Hornetsecurity Group. Hornetsecurity is a well-known European provider of AI-driven security, data protection, compliance, and security awareness solutions for Microsoft 365 (M365).
The acquisition will greatly boost Proofpoint’s Human-Centric Security services for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) around the world. It will do this through managed service providers (MSPs). Proofpoint and Hornetsecurity plan to combine their strengths. Proofpoint brings global reach, while Hornetsecurity has a strong foothold in the MSP space. Together, they aim to protect organizations and their people.
Hornetsecurity brings great value to Proofpoint with over $160 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). It has an annual growth rate of more than 20%. Its solid operational performance exceeds the “Rule of 60.” This shows strong market demand and effective business execution.

The two companies serve distinct yet complementary market segments. Hornetsecurity works with over 12,000 channel partners and MSPs. They also support more than 125,000 SMBs in Europe. Proofpoint protects 85% of the Fortune 100 and over half of the Fortune 1000. This makes it a trusted name in enterprise security. They will create smart, integrated security platforms. These platforms will meet the needs of organizations of any size.
