Fujisoft Co., Ltd. signed a distributor agreement for Black Duck with Macnica, Inc. on Wednesday, May 7th, and has begun selling Black Duck Software, Inc.’s OSS management and SBOM management solution, “Black Duck SCA.”
In recent years, the number of IoT products connected to networks has increased worldwide, and the threat of cyber attacks targeting vulnerabilities in IoT products has grown. This has led to an increased demand for security functions and the advancement of legal regulations in each country. In the European Union (EU), the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) was enacted in December 2024. Vulnerability/incident reporting obligations will be partially applied in September 2026, and fully applied in December 2027. Digital products that do not meet the requirements will not be able to be sold in the European market, so companies are urgently required to take action.
Black Duck® Software Composition Analysis (SCA) is a comprehensive solution for managing security, license compliance, and quality risks that arise when using OSS (Open Source Software). It identifies risks related to vulnerabilities and license compliance violations, supports the safe and secure use of OSS, and helps ensure the security and quality of products and services through SBOM (Software Bill of Materials), and supports the establishment and efficient operation of PSIRT (Security Integrity Assessment Team).
