Cyber attacks are becoming more sophisticated and complex every day, with frequent incidents occurring at countries, local governments, and critical infrastructure companies. Nowadays, organizations of all sizes and geographic locations are at risk of cyber attacks.
As cybersecurity measures become one of the most important management issues, the Global Cybersecurity Talent Survey*1 published by ISC2 in 2023 showed that the number of security talent in Japan increased by 23.8% from the previous year to 481,000, but the demand for talent also increased by 33.0% to 591,000, leaving a shortage of 110,000. In addition, according to the Survey on IT Talent Supply and Demand*2 published by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2019, while the demand for IT talent is increasing due to the acceleration of digital transformation, the supply of IT talent is not keeping up due to the decline in the country’s young population, and it is estimated that there will be a shortage of up to approximately 790,000 people by 2030.
