IDC Frontier Inc. launched a new service called “IDCF Cloud Backup” that allows backup and restore on a virtual machine and file basis on the public cloud service “IDCF Cloud”. IDCF Cloud Backup is a backup service that combines Veeam Software’s “Backup as a Service (BaaS) solution for service providers” and Wasabi Technologies’ cloud storage “Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage”.
It supports backup and restore on a virtual machine (VM) and file basis. It supports incremental backups, shortening backup time and saving backup capacity. Since storage is charged according to actual usage, there is no reserve cost. Backup data cannot be changed or deleted during the set period, so it can be effectively used as a ransomware countermeasure. From the IDCF Cloud console, you can intuitively perform backup and file restore operations using a GUI.
In addition, you can back up other companies’ clouds and on-premise environments as well as IDCF Cloud. IDCF Cloud Backup charges for the target server + backup data (actual usage). The billing method is monthly (not prorated), and the first month is free for the target server only. The fee (excluding tax) is 3,500 yen per month for the backup server per target server, and 5 yen per GB for backup storage.
