Open Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Open Group Co., Ltd. , and NTT Advanced Technology Corporation have begun integrating Open’s orchestration platform “TotalAgility” with NTT-AT’s RPA tool “WinActor” to promote business transformation for companies in the age of AI.
This collaboration aims to provide a “business execution platform” that supports hybrid automation integrating AI and RPA by combining AI-based understanding and decision-making, TotalAgility-based orchestration of business processes, and WinActor- based reliable business execution.
The two companies will propose a new business model that integrates AI, people, RPA, and business processes, helping companies move from PoC (Proof of Concept) to actual operation and supporting sustainable business transformation in the AI era.

The rapid evolution of generative AI and AI agents has led to increased expectations among companies for AI-driven business transformation. However, new challenges are also emerging when it comes to actually applying AI to business operations.
For example, the quality of AI responses and judgments can vary depending on the model used and the input content, and operational costs fluctuate depending on the amount of tokens used, making continuous cost management difficult. Furthermore, AI alone struggles to adequately implement the business rules, governance, human approval, and exception handling required by companies, and it is not easy to complete tasks to the end, including integration with existing systems such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and core systems.
Thus, the focus of AI utilization in companies is shifting from “implementing AI” to “safely and continuously integrating AI into operations and driving results.” Therefore, rather than choosing between “AI or RPA,” hybrid automation, which combines the strengths of both, is attracting attention as a new best practice for companies.
