Kanematsu announced on April 24 that it had established a new strategic IT company, Kanematsu Seed Port Co., Ltd., on the 16th, to renovate the group’s core systems and promote digital transformation (DX). The establishment of the new company is part of a policy aimed at strengthening group-wide integrated management under the current mid-term management plan, “integration 1.0.”
Kanematsu will renovate the group’s core systems for the first time in 20 years and will introduce Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) from the US. Kanematsu Seed Port will build a flexible and highly efficient development system using Oracle’s technology to optimize system development resources, and will promote data utilization throughout the group through the construction of a group data infrastructure using the new core system. Kanematsu’s Toshihiro Sakai will be appointed as the company’s president and representative director. He stated, “We aim to be a group of engineers that the Kanematsu Group can be proud of, promoting digital transformation as a ‘continuously growing organization,’ supporting the evolution of the trading company business, and providing more practical and valuable systems.

To achieve this, we will develop highly motivated personnel who are well versed in both business and technology, and build a system that can accurately grasp on-site issues and provide optimal IT solutions that are tailored to them. We will contribute to the sustainable development of companies and society by sowing seeds for the future of the trading company business and creating new value.” The company name was chosen to reflect the company’s determination to “sow seeds for the future and create new value,” and its role of connecting people, things, and data like a “port,” the origin of the trading company business, and supporting business transformation.
