Hitachi, Ltd. announced plans to integrate its U.S. subsidiaries, GlobalLogic Inc. and Hitachi Digital Services LLC, with the aim of accelerating the global growth of “Lumada 3.0,” driving digitalization across the Hitachi Group, and further strengthening the delivery structure of its Digital Systems & Services sector. Lumada 3.0 is Hitachi’s strategic initiative to accelerate the digital transformation (DX) of its customers and social infrastructure by leveraging Hitachi’s digital capabilities, domain knowledge cultivated in mission-critical areas, and global installed base. This integration of the two companies will provide end-to-end expertise throughout the DX lifecycle, from strategy formulation to development and operation, and will build a robust digital business structure capable of integrating advanced digital technologies, including AI, with large-scale mission-critical systems.
The integration of the two companies’ operations will be led by current GlobalLogic President and CEO, Srinivas (Srini) Shankar, and will begin in April 2026.
This integration will accelerate market transformation and digital business growth by addressing the challenges facing Hitachi Group and its customers, including digital transformation, the realization of highly reliable mission-critical systems, and the implementation of AI.

To achieve this, the two companies will combine their strengths in digital engineering, software development capabilities from chips to cloud, AI application technology, and mission-critical system construction. Leveraging these capabilities and the domain knowledge cultivated over many years in the Hitachi Group’s OT (operational technology) and product areas, the two companies will drive digitalization within the company through a “customer zero” approach. Furthermore, by incorporating the Hitachi Group’s track record, the two companies will contribute to solving complex challenges in key areas of mobility, including automobiles and railways, as well as energy and industry.
The new integrated organization will establish a unified “AI Factory” through an ecosystem of powerful offerings, such as GlobalLogic‘s VelocityAI and Hitachi Digital Services’ Hitachi Application Reliability Centers (HARC) , and alliances with partners. This will enable the development of AI offerings tailored to on-site operations, and seamless implementation and operation in mission-critical areas. Furthermore, the new organization will deepen collaboration within the Hitachi Group and accelerate the deployment of HMAX by Hitachi , a next-generation solution suite that revolutionizes social infrastructure with AI , maximizing the value it provides to customers and society.
Through these efforts, we will accelerate the growth of Lumada 3.0 and contribute to the realization of a harmonized society where the environment, happiness, and economic growth are in harmony, as envisioned in Hitachi‘s management plan, “Inspire 2027.”
