SATO Corporation and LOZI Inc. are pleased to announce that they have entered into a business partnership agreement in May 2025 with the aim of providing a traceability system that can flexibly adapt to each user’s unique supply chain.
LOZI’s strength is that it allows an unspecified number of businesses to freely set tracking points throughout the supply chain and record information according to their services using its smartphone-based no-code traceability tool “Smart Barcode®.” Through this partnership, SATO’s products and solutions, which have strengths in arterial logistics, will be linked to accelerate the provision of next-generation traceability that supports digital product passports (hereinafter “DPP”) and the circular economy.
As Europe and other countries move to comply with DPP and strengthen traceability throughout the product lifecycle, Japanese companies are also being asked to take action. SATO’s mid-term management plan sets out “PUT (Perfect and Unique Tagging)” as its vision for 2030, and is working to build a system that can automatically manage and track individual products by assigning individual IDs to objects, and can track information consistently from the supply chain to the consumer.

LOZI’s “Smart Barcode🄬” can set any tracking point by linking unique information to every barcode. In addition, by making objects traceable and reading them with a smartphone, information can be recorded, accumulated, and shared among the businesses that make up the supply chain. It is being introduced mainly for logistics and manufacturing process applications, and it is possible to set traceability scenarios without coding and to link with various sensors and blockchains. It is highly regarded for its ease of initial implementation and its flexible response to on-site issues.
SATO’s label printers and RFID solutions have strengths in arterial logistics, and collaboration with LOZI’s “Smart Barcode🄬” is expected to create high synergy by flexibly connecting arterial and venous logistics.
Through this business partnership, SATO and LOZI will contribute to creating new value in next-generation traceability and resolving social issues.
