Panasonic Connect has officially launched a full-scale supply chain management (SCM) business in Japan, aiming to deliver “total optimization starting from the field.” The company will use its global acquisitions, Blue Yonder and Zetes, to improve logistics. They plan to combine planning and execution processes with real-time data. This move addresses the growing complexity in supply chains. This complexity comes from labor shortages, higher logistics costs, and environmental issues.
In 2024, the company will set up a special SCM Business Center. It will provide solutions designed for the Japanese market. It focuses on digitizing warehousing, transportation, and frontline operations. This allows for clear visibility and better decision-making throughout the supply chain. Key elements are workflow standardization and a unified data system. This system covers manpower planning, inventory, and delivery management.

Panasonic Connect also draws on over 45 years of logistics experience in Japan and global best practices. Early implementation examples include Henkel in Germany and Accel Logistics in Mexico, showing measurable productivity gains. In Japan, Fukuoka Transportation has already benefited from improved communication through delivery tracking systems. A team of 700 specialists will support deployment, with the goal of onboarding 50 companies by 2030, starting with NX・NP Logistics’ warehouse rollout in 2025.
