Visual Bank Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that, as part of the “GENIAC (Generative AI Accelerator Challenge)” project to strengthen domestic generative AI development capabilities promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization), Mynet Inc. will cooperate with us in a demonstration project on the utilization of IP data.
Background and objectives of the demonstration cooperation
Currently, AI development projects face challenges such as a lack of high-quality data necessary for development and difficulty in accessing data holders, hindering data collection. In particular, in the IP (intellectual property) industry, including manga, anime, and games, there is a deep disconnect between IP data holders and AI developers, resulting in a stagnant supply and demand for data. Furthermore, unauthorized learning and output without the permission of IP data holders are rampant, and while there is a need for an environment free from illegal transactions such as rights infringement, a system that balances securing high-quality data with protecting creators’ rights is essential to promoting the practical application of AI.

In this demonstration project, “AI Practical Data Ecosystem for the IP Industry,” Visual Bank will lead system development and infrastructure setup, while Mynet Inc. will provide its data assets, which are exclusively for “non-enjoyment purposes” such as information analysis, as an “IP data rights holder,” under a strict management and operation system that prioritizes copyright protection. By combining the strengths of both companies, we aim to build a data distribution model for AI development that is highly practical and has clear rights relationships.
