SoftBank Robotics Group Corp. and its subsidiaries have entered into a strategic partnership with icetana AI Limited, a company developing AI security solution technology, with the aim of jointly promoting next-generation security solutions that combine AI and robotics. In this partnership, SoftBank Robotics Singapore Pte. Ltd. will invest 1.87 million Australian dollars (approximately 170 million yen) in icetana AI. In addition, SoftBank Robotics Corp. will acquire exclusive sales rights for icetana AI solutions in Japan and will work together with icetana AI on research and development for the next three years.

SoftBank Robotics Singapore will acquire 17.6% of icetana AI’s issued shares and participate as a strategic shareholder. This investment aims to further accelerate icetana AI’s product development and strengthen collaboration with the company in the global market.
SoftBank Robotics acquires exclusive sales rights in Japan
In a contract between SoftBank Robotics Group Corp. and icetana AI, SoftBank Robotics has acquired exclusive sales rights for icetana AI solutions in Japan and will begin accepting reservations for “ICETANA AI-SmartBX Security” from today. Sales are scheduled to begin on July 1, 2025. This solution utilizes icetana AI’s video analysis technology, which automatically detects abnormalities, and combines it with SoftBank Robotics’ robots and automation technologies to improve the efficiency and sophistication of security and surveillance, as well as support the security systems of companies and facilities as a new solution to meet the needs of safety management amid a worsening labor shortage. In addition, SoftBank Robotics has launched the “ICETANA AI DX Trial” campaign, which provides 100 companies with the opportunity to demonstrate business improvement operations using ICETANA AI free of charge, with reservations open from today until August 31, and will be available sequentially from July 1. SoftBank Robotics has also partnered with Macnica Inc. (headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Hara Kazumasa; hereinafter “Macnica”), which already sells icetana AI in Japan. Macnica will continue to sell icetana AI, and the two companies plan to jointly develop a variety of security solutions that leverage the strengths of both companies.
Technological evolution and new market creation through joint research and development
SoftBank Robotics and icetana AI have signed an agreement to conduct joint research and development over the next three years. The two companies will promote multiple projects aimed at realizing next-generation security and automation, including AI-based anomaly detection technology, collaborative operation of robots, and smooth integration with external systems.
The SoftBank Robotics Group will continue to accelerate collaboration with global AI technology companies, creating new demand in the robotics market and working to resolve social issues.
