Microsoft has launched its AI assistant, Copilot, for macOS. It is now available on the Mac App Store in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. as of February 28 (U.S. time). The app is free to use for those who meet the requirements. However, it is only compatible with Macs equipped with an Apple chip (M1 or later), while devices with Intel chips are not supported. The macOS version works like the ones on Windows, iOS, iPadOS, and Android. Users can interact using text or voice prompts. They can get responses, create text and images, and do many AI-assisted tasks.
Copilot gives clear answers to tough questions. It quickly summarizes info, translates, and proofreads in many languages. It also helps write emails, cover letters, stories, and scripts. It also has a feature that generates images from text prompts. These can be anything from abstract designs to realistic pictures. The app helps users with many tasks. It can design logos and brand motifs. Users can also edit photos by removing backgrounds. It allows for creating book illustrations. Plus, it curates social media content. Users can develop storyboards for films and videos. Finally, it helps build or update portfolios.

Copilot improves accessibility by letting users set a keyboard shortcut for quick access. It can also be set to launch automatically when you sign in. Microsoft has also introduced an option that lets users access Copilot without creating an account or signing in. Mac users can use the “Think Deeper” feature. It analyzes questions more closely to give detailed answers. They can also try “Copilot Voice,” which allows for natural voice chats with AI. Copilot Voice has four unique voice options: Canyon, Meadow, Grove, and Wave. Each one has different genders, pitches, and accents.
