Dentsu Institute Inc., which realizes the evolution of companies and society through technology, will begin offering the “AI Modernization Service for iPLAss,” which combines a low-code development platform and generative AI, in collaboration with Monstar Lab Japan Inc. from Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
This service combines iPLAss, an open source low-code development platform developed by Dentsu Institute, with CodeRebuild AI, Monstar Lab’s legacy system renovation service that utilizes generative AI, to provide comprehensive support from analysis and visualization of black-boxed legacy systems*1, which are a challenge for companies, to modernization proposals and implementation, operation and maintenance using low-code.
In recent years, many Japanese companies have been facing the so-called “2025 Cliff*2” problem, a threat of economic losses due to aging IT systems and delays in DX. Various issues have arisen, such as the lack of specifications for systems that have been used for many years, making them black boxes, and the difficulty of securing specialized personnel capable of maintaining systems due to the obsolescence of legacy technology. In addition, the hurdles to modernization are high and complicated due to incomplete design documents for legacy systems and the diversification of file formats.

In light of this situation, Dentsu Institute and Monstar Lab have jointly developed the “AI Modernization Service for iPLAss,” which leverages the strengths of both companies in low-code development and generative AI to help companies modernize their legacy systems.
