RICOS Inc., which uses AI and simulation technology to improve the efficiency and add value to product design, is pleased to announce that it has raised a total of approximately 600 million yen in July 2025 through a third-party allotment of new shares underwritten by XTech Ventures Inc., mint, DRONE FUND Inc., UT Founders’ Association (UT Founders’ Association) Fund, Yamanashi Chuo Bank Management Consulting Co., Ltd., and Hiroshima Venture Capital Co., Ltd., as well as borrowing from Hokkoku Bank Ltd.
RICOS is a technology company that optimizes manufacturing processes by combining CAE (Computer Aided Engineering)*1 with AI and high-performance computing technologies. In the product design process at manufacturing sites, CAE is often used to create pseudo-product models on computers, and then to simulate various physical phenomena such as fluid flow and heat conduction. However, one issue with this method is that when high accuracy is required for simulations, the calculation times can become extremely long.
To address this issue, RICOS developed and patented “IsoGCN,” an algorithm that combines CAE and AI to quickly predict simulation results, in 2020. RICOS subsequently launched “RICOS Lightning,” an AI-CAE software that uses the soGCN algorithm, and it is being used as a simulation tool for fluids and thermal fluids. We are currently collaborating with several automobile and machinery manufacturers. We are also currently improving the IsoGCN algorithm and developing an AI algorithm that can more accurately represent a wider range of phenomena, and plan to continuously update our currently available product, “Lightning.”

Furthermore, last year we released “RICOS Generative CAE,” software for automatically transforming and optimizing product shapes, and have already begun collaborating with several companies, including Daikure Corporation, which develops, manufactures, and sells civil engineering and construction materials, and automobile companies. This system is linked to Truck*2, our CAD kernel OSS, and we are developing a system that optimizes the structure, selection of components, placement, and shape with the aim of improving the performance and reducing the costs of existing products.
The funds raised this time will be used for the development of “RICOS Lightning” and “RICOS Generative CAE”, as well as for research and development aimed at improving the accuracy of the AI algorithms that advance CAE, and for strengthening recruitment of product development engineers and BizDev personnel, including for overseas expansion.
