SORACOM Inc. is pleased to announce that SORACOM Flux, a service that enables low-code development of IoT applications, has strengthened its integration with its cloud-based camera service, Sorakame, and now supports live image acquisition.
SORACOM Flux is an “IoT automator” designed to automate IoT systems. It uses data obtained from sensors and cameras as input and combines it with analysis using notification systems and generative AI models to build applications. As a result, it is being increasingly used in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, logistics, and retail, as a system to support field-led digitalization.
Sorakame, on the other hand, is a camera service that features ease of use and reasonable pricing: simply connect to Wi-Fi to start cloud recording. Sorakame offers continuous cloud recording and motion detection recording. Furthermore, by combining it with SORACOM Flux, you can automate tasks such as “periodic acquisition of camera images,” “use AI to analyze acquired images and record the situation,” and “notification when specific situations occur.”

With this update, you can now use the real-time access function to obtain live images from cameras on demand. Until now, it was assumed that continuous cloud recording would be used, but by obtaining live images only when necessary, you can reduce network load and enable new usage methods such as periodic acquisition of still images, AI analysis, and notification integration.
For example, in a use case where multiple cameras are installed in a retail store to monitor inventory status on shelves, this will make it easier to introduce an automated system that utilizes cameras while reducing network load.
ソラコム Flux will continue to be updated based on feedback from customer use cases and the latest trends in generative AI services.
