Aeronext Inc. and ソフトバンク株式会社. signed a business partnership agreement on July 14, 2025, to build a phase-free drone logistics platform. Through this partnership, the two companies will focus on joint development of a drone traffic management system that enables simultaneous remote autonomous control using AI.
In recent years, the logistics industry has been facing increasingly serious issues such as labor shortages and last-mile delivery. There is also a growing need for drones in logistics, such as for transporting emergency supplies in times of disaster.
Since 2021, Aeronext has been promoting SkyHub®, a new logistics infrastructure and new smart logistics that solves regional issues, in multiple regions across the country. In response to the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred in January 2024, its subsidiary NEXT DELIVERY Co., Ltd. delivered medical supplies by drone to isolated areas affected by the disaster. To solve the issues identified through this experience, Aeronext proposed the SkyHub® Emergency Package, a “phase-free disaster logistics measure” that prepares systems in advance during normal times in preparation for emergencies, and is currently working on specific plans with various local governments. A service system that increases convenience for local residents and the sustainability of regional logistics during normal times will become a logistics platform that protects residents’ lives in the event of a disaster.
