Teradata launched the Teradata AI Factory. This new on-premises AI appliance meets the rising need for secure and private AI setups. Launched in Japan on July 30, this solution is for organizations that manage sensitive data not meant for the cloud. The AI Factory, created with NVIDIA AI Enterprise, merges hardware and software. This setup supports sovereign AI, so companies can fully control their data.
Key features include support for agent-based AI, integration of large and small language models (LLMs and SLMs) for optimal cost and performance, and a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipeline for natural language data querying. Its local design cuts down on latency and data movement. It also speeds up processes using GPU or CPU.
The platform uses Teradata’s AI-optimized IntelliFlex infrastructure. It also features the Enterprise Vector Store, which helps integrate structured and unstructured data. It also provides an AI Workbench for building agents. Plus, it supports the entire model lifecycle with tools like JupyterHub and Airflow.
