NTT has developed a multi-AI agent collaboration platform designed to handle complex planning tasks, such as corporate strategy development and multifaceted business planning. Unlike conventional systems, which assign subtasks to specialized AI agents that work independently, this new approach ensures consistency and integration across subtasks.
The technology is inspired by human memory processes, equipping each AI agent with episodic memory (experience-based knowledge) and semantic memory (generalized facts). Agents not only complete their own subtasks but also share and refine knowledge collaboratively, mimicking human-style meetings. They can generate specialized “expert agents” when additional expertise is needed, dynamically adjusting strategies as tasks evolve.
In testing, the platform outperformed traditional methods in creative planning scenarios. For example, when developing a tea business plan, it produced a cohesive, customer-focused strategy integrating diverse product ideas and experiential offerings. Evaluation using the ROUGE metric showed an average accuracy improvement of 14.4%, rising to 17.2% with knowledge reuse.
