MC Digital Realty and Serenjuno team up on Data and Cable

MC Digital Realty Inc., a provider of data center, colocation, and interconnection solutions in Japan, and SerenJuno Network Co., Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership that leverages the synergies between MC Digital Realty’s data center campus and Seren’s trans-Pacific submarine cable system, “JUNO.” Through this partnership, customers using MC Digital Realty’s NRT Campus and KIX Campus will be able to rapidly deploy and use international leased lines via the JUNO Cable, a high-capacity, low-latency submarine cable connecting Japan and the United States.

Submarine cables are becoming increasingly important worldwide as core infrastructure supporting the rapidly expanding global digital economy, and Japan, located midway between the United States and Asian countries, plays a particularly important role as a data hub in the Asia-Pacific region. Through this collaboration, MC Digital Realty’s clients, who have data centers in the Tokyo and Kansai areas, Asia’s leading data hubs, will be able to more conveniently connect to data centers and client locations in North America and around the world. This will further accelerate the utilization of large-scale data, which is essential for utilizing AI, creating innovation, and promoting DX (digital transformation). Furthermore, international clients will be able to expand their AI business in Asia by connecting to MC Digital Realty’s AI-enabled data centers via JUNO Cable.

MC Digital Realty has been working to strengthen connectivity through collaboration with numerous telecommunications carriers to support business growth and innovation through the utilization of data for its customers. This new collaboration with Seren will further enhance the convenience of Japan-U.S. connectivity in the Tokyo and Kansai regions, and will further expand the portfolio of Digital Realty’s global data center platform, PlatformDIGITAL®, which provides access to a rich data community of over 5,000 customers, including customers, partners, and over 1,500 enterprise companies, 1,300 network service providers, and 1,100 cloud and IT providers, with data center locations in over 300 locations in over 25 countries and 50 cities across six continents.
