ONセミコンダクター、$7B規模の取引でシナプティクスを買収

ON Semiconductor has announced it plans to acquire Synaptics in an all-stock arrangement worth about $7 billion, so yeah this is kind of a big move for them as they keep pushing past power and sensing and more into intelligent systems. The idea is that by mixing シナプティクス edge AI compute, wireless connectivity, and human machine interface know how, with ON Semiconductor experience in automotive, industrial, and AI infrastructure, they can better lock in their footing for physical AI uses. Think robotics, autonomous vehicles, and even AR/VR, all those kinds of things. If everything goes as expected the acquisition could widen オン・セミコンダクター addressable market to $243 billion by 2030, and also speed up product development plus system level innovation. They say the transaction should wrap up around mid-2027, assuming the shareholders ok it and regulators give approvals, before any final handoff happens.
