Develop advanced power conversion systems (PCS) using high-voltage, high-current, and innovative power semiconductor technology. This partnership will greatly improve renewable energy efficiency.
Mitsubishi Electric’s top power semiconductor modules will work with ITRI’s expertise in efficient power conversion. Together, they will design and build a megawatt-class PCS prototype. This new prototype converts electricity from renewable sources, such as solar and wind. It aims to create a greener future. The prototype will set the standard for future large renewable energy systems and grid technologies.
Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Electric Taiwan will grow their power semiconductor module business for renewable energy. The companies will share design info and performance data from the tests. This will help equipment makers improve PCS performance with Mitsubishi Electric’s semiconductor modules. ITRI will share the design documents and test results with Taiwanese PCS makers.
