EdgeCortix Inc., a fabless semiconductor company focused on energy-efficient AI processing at the edge, has completed the initial close of its Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to nearly $100 million USD. The round attracted global investors like Yanmar Ventures, Pacific Bays Capital, and NTT Finance Corporation. SiC Power and Aero X Ventures also joined in. Existing investors, including SBI Investments and Global Hands-On VC, continued their support.
The financing will speed up production of EdgeCortix’s SAKURA-II AI co-processors. These co-processors are already used in fields like robotics, industrial automation, defense, aerospace, and space exploration. It will also support the launch of the company’s next-gen SAKURA-X chiplet platform. This platform is designed to provide up to 2,000 TOPS per device while using less power. These features aim to enable advanced generative AI tasks in high-performance edge systems.

This funding shows that investors really believe in EdgeCortix’s dual-use technology. It works for both commercial and defense markets. The company recently received an award from the U.S. Defense Innovation Unit. This shows its strong position in a market where demand for energy-efficient, high-performance AI hardware is rising quickly. Additional closings for the Series B round are expected through 2025.
