Octa Robotics Inc. has released “LCI Node R” as an LCI service for Ryobi Ltd.’s electric door opening and closing device, RUCAD.
Octa Robotics Inc. provides robot door integration services based on the standard [1] issued by the Robot Friendly Facilities Association (RFA). With the aim of expanding and improving robot infrastructure, which is one of the key elements in solutions utilizing service robots, Octa Robotics has been working to build a door integration system that is inexpensive and easy to implement.
“LCI,” which we developed independently, is a communication service that enables collaboration between multiple vendors regardless of the type of elevator, automatic door, security, or robot, and is a system that allows robots to move freely within a building. It employs a highly secure connection method that allows interconnection with the control panels of major domestic elevator and automatic door manufacturers, and boasts an extensive track record in Japan.

As part of its LCI service, Octa Robotics will begin selling the door robot integration system “LCI Node R,” which is compatible with Ryobi Ltd.’s electric door opening and closing device RUCAD.
LCI Node R is a solution that aims to solve the problem of robotic integration with manual swing doors, including fire doors, which has been a hurdle to the introduction of robots in building management. We aim to widely popularize it as a “door integration system (a mechanism that enables robots to open and close doors and move inside and outside the building)” that is essential for utilizing robots to reduce the labor required for management work.
Octa Robotics will promote building equipment integration based on the RFA standard and conduct research and development to make facilities even more robot-friendly, contributing to the early realization of the robot-friendly society that Octa Robotics を目指します。
