Timee Co., Ltd., provider of the part-time job service “Timee,” is pleased to announce that it has signed a business partnership agreement with the Ehime Prefectural Headquarters of the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations. This marks the first collaboration with Zen-Noh Prefectural Headquarters in the Shikoku area.
The declining and aging population of agricultural workers is becoming increasingly serious in Japan’s agriculture industry. The number of core agricultural workers has halved over the past 20 years, falling from 2.4 million in 2000 to 1.114 million in 2024. Of these, 125,000 (11.2%) were aged 49 or younger, while 799,000 (71.7%) were aged 65 or older. As of 2024, the average age of core agricultural workers was 69.2 years old. Ehime Prefecture is no exception to this trend, and efforts to secure labor in the agricultural sector are urgently needed.
Therefore, our company and JA Zen-Noh Ehime have entered into a business partnership agreement with the aim of resolving the labor shortage for producers, including those at JA facilities in Ehime Prefecture, through the use of spot work. In this initiative, JA Zen-Noh Ehime will act as the contact point and introduce タイム to member farmers in the prefecture through each JA, thereby promoting the use of spot work in agricultural fields. In addition, in order to support producers in accepting spot workers and to create a comfortable working environment for workers, we will also prepare operational manuals tailored to the crops grown in Ehime Prefecture (manuals for harvesting and sorting citrus fruits and vegetables, etc.).
