ABeam Consulting and GX Concierge have launched the “SSBJ/ESRS Quick Assessment Service” to help Japanese companies prepare for stricter sustainability disclosure requirements. Beginning in the fiscal year ending March 2027, listed firms with market capitalizations of ¥3 trillion or more will be required to comply with the Sustainability Business Reporting Standards (SSBJ), aligned with international frameworks such as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
The service offers a four-week assessment. This helps clarify a company’s compliance status. It also identifies challenges and outlines a plan for sustainability management and disclosure systemization. It looks at companies in three main ways: how well they follow disclosure rules, how they match global practices, and if their systems and data are adequate. This approach helps management make smart choices about information disclosure, sustainability strategy, and IT investment planning.

The initiative addresses challenges companies face with SSBJ. These include materiality analysis, Scope 3 emissions calculation, and balancing resources with assurance needs. アビーム’s sustainability strategy and GX Concierge’s technical skills combine to create a practical first step. This service helps firms build a strong sustainability management foundation, going beyond just compliance reporting.
