TIS Inc., a member of the TIS INTEC Group, and Welby Inc. are pleased to announce that they have entered into a business partnership agreement to jointly develop a next-generation data sharing platform in the healthcare field.
Through this collaboration, TIS and Welby will work together to promote healthcare digital transformation in the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. The aim is to support the development and operation of highly reliable and scalable healthcare infrastructure systems, as well as data collection and analysis, and to rapidly implement them in society.
As the aging population and declining birthrate continue, the proportion of elderly people in the population is increasing, and demand for medical care and nursing care is rapidly increasing. At the same time, the “2030 problem” is becoming a social issue, with concerns that social security costs will skyrocket due to a shortage of doctors, nurses, and nursing care staff, and widening regional disparities in medical care. To solve the “2030 problem,” it is considered essential to promote medical digital transformation, which aims to improve work efficiency and strengthen collaboration by standardizing electronic medical records and utilizing PHR, as well as to promote preventive medicine, which reduces medical care and nursing care costs by extending healthy lifespans.

Currently, various companies operating in the healthcare business offer PHR apps, which are smartphone apps that allow users to manage and utilize their own health data, such as personal health checkup results, vaccination history, medication information, and medical institution consultation history. However, a major challenge in using PHRs to date has been achieving both “customization” for each customer according to their individual needs and “standardization of the infrastructure” for efficient operation.
Since 2020, TIS has been providing system integration services to companies based on its PHR service “Healthcare Passport,” which allows consumers to safely and interactively share their health and medical information with medical professionals and their families, and its “Healthcare Platform,” which serves as a foundation for companies and citizens to utilize health and medical information.
Welby provides “Welby My Karte,” a PHR service that supports the prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. We also utilize the PHR data portability platform “WPDP (Welby PHR & Data Portability Platform)” to develop and operate PHR applications for pharmaceutical companies and other organizations.
TIS そして ウェルビー will now combine Welby’s standardized PHR platform with TIS’s healthcare platform and advanced system integration technology to promote healthcare digital transformation in the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. The two companies have concluded a business partnership agreement with the aim of quickly implementing a highly reliable and scalable healthcare infrastructure across a wide range of fields in the pharmaceutical and insurance industries.
