オリンパス株式会社 has launched SecureFlex. This is a single-use fine needle biopsy (FNB) device. It’s designed for endoscopic ultrasound-guided procedures (EUS-FNB) in the GI tract. SecureFlex is mainly for diagnosing pancreatic cancer. It enables accurate tissue sampling from hard-to-reach submucosal and extramural lesions.
EUS-FNB uses endoscopy and ultrasound. This lets doctors see inside the body clearly and gather the right tissue samples. To treat pancreatic cancer well, you need high-quality samples. This is especially true for targeted therapies and immunotherapies. Accurate diagnosis and treatment plans rely on these samples.
SecureFlex meets these needs with its Dual-Beveled Raptor Tip. This tip has multi-dimensional cutting surfaces. They help capture larger, intact tissue samples. Plus, it keeps the cellular structure intact. This achieves better diagnostic accuracy. The device has a flexible nitinol design and a multi-layer sheath. It easily navigates tough spots like the pancreatic head and uncinate process. This means you don’t need to keep using a scope! changes. The needle features a houndstooth pattern. This design improves ultrasound visibility during procedures.
