Pocket Sign Inc. will launch a web version of its official local government app “Pocket Sign” in fiscal year 2026, allowing residents to access services directly through web browsers and existing municipal apps without needing to install a new app. The expansion is designed to help local governments integrate Pocket Sign into current digital channels, such as portal sites, LINE services, disaster prevention apps, and local community apps, while maintaining consistent resident access.
Pocket Sign is already used in municipalities across Japan, offering daily services including disaster alerts, evacuation guidance, point programs, health initiatives, childcare support, surveys, and government notifications. However, many local governments sought a way to adopt Pocket Sign without requiring mass app downloads, prompting the development of a browser-based option.

The new web version will support flexible multi-channel service delivery, seamless embedding into existing apps, and secure authentication through the Pocket Sign IdP/Registry, which uses OpenID Connect (OIDC). It also enables accurate, My Number–based identification for targeted benefits, digital childcare passports, and streamlined disaster shelter operations.
By unifying resident authentication and enabling secure cross-service data sharing with consent, Pocket Sign aims to become a full-scale administrative service platform. The company plans to evolve this foundation into a municipal data platform supporting Evidence-Based Policy Making (EBPM), allowing governments to design more effective, personalized, and cross-sector digital services.
