アイレット Co., Ltd., a one-stop provider of system and application development, graphic and UI/UX design, and infrastructure construction and operation, and Techno Mind Co., Ltd., a provider of optimal solutions from consulting to system development and maintenance, primarily in the Tohoku region, are pleased to announce the launch of a government cloud migration project on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for the core business systems used by 18 local governments in Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures. With the government cloud migration deadline of the end of fiscal year 2025 approaching, the two companies will maximize their strengths and vigorously promote digital transformation (DX) for local governments.
The government cloud refers to a common cloud service usage environment for the government. The government will enact the “Act on Standardization of Local Government Information Systems (Standardization Act)” in 2021, and aims to migrate 20 core business systems, including the Basic Resident Register and tax systems, to standard-compliant systems by the end of fiscal year 2025 as a secure and reliable cloud environment. In addition, AWS has been selected as one of the service providers (CSPs) that will continue to provide cloud services to the government cloud from 2021.
However, many local governments are facing a wide range of challenges, including a lack of specialized knowledge and know-how regarding cloud migration, and budget and resource constraints, which has led to continued delays in migration. In addition, the deadline for government subsidies for government cloud migration has been extended to the end of fiscal year 2030, and it is expected that local governments will become even more active in migrating to the cloud.

Going forward, the two companies will continue to work closely together to improve the efficiency of local government operations and promote digital transformation throughout the region.
