Value Design Inc., a cashless service provider under the umbrella of PayCloud Holdings Inc., is pleased to announce that its local payment hometown tax payment service, “Furumachi Pay,” has been introduced in Wazuka Town, Kyoto Prefecture. Wazuka Town, Kyoto Prefecture, will begin accepting hometown tax donations via “Furumachi Pay” from August 12, 2025.
Value Design offers “Furumachi Pay,” a local payment hometown tax payment service that expands the range of gifts in the hometown tax payment system from “things” to “experiences,” fostering an environment where visitors can easily donate locally and leading to regional revitalization. As the service allows visitors to easily donate locally using their smartphones and the digital coupons that serve as gifts can be used on the spot, it can also be used in restaurants, campsites, experience facilities, etc., making it possible to increase donation opportunities while promoting the appeal of the region.
Wazuka Town in Kyoto Prefecture, which has recently introduced Furumachi Pay, is a town with a long history as a producer of Uji tea, and is known as the “Tea Town” as it produces approximately half of Uji tea. Regarding the introduction of Furumachi Pay, an official from Wazuka Town in Kyoto Prefecture stated, “When you visit Wazuka Town, we would like to encourage you to make use of Furumachi Pay, which allows you to make donations on-site and use it on the spot, as a way to help you experience the charms of the town.”

Furumachi Pay can be used at two locations: Wazuka Tea Cafe and the farm produce store Wazuka no Sato, with plans to gradually expand the number of stores where it can be used. This will help create a variety of donation opportunities.
