SmartHR and Finatext have started jointly developing a digital insurance marketplace that will sit inside SmartHR’s employee benefits platform, Your Money Portal for Workers. The goal is pretty straightforward. Make workplace insurance easier to introduce, easier to manage, and far less painful for HR teams already buried under operational work.
The system will use HR data already stored inside SmartHR to simplify insurance enrollment for employees. Information like names, birthdays, and family structures can automatically flow into applications, removing the usual repetitive input work that comes with insurance signups.
For companies, the bigger appeal is automation. A lot of businesses want to expand employee benefits, but workplace insurance has traditionally been packed with paperwork, insurer coordination, enrollment management, and manual administration. That becomes even harder when companies are already dealing with labor shortages and lean HR teams.

ファイナテキスト is bringing its embedded insurance infrastructure into the partnership through its platform, Inspire, which handles functions like applications, policy management, claims, and renewals digitally. The two companies are basically trying to make insurance feel less like a separate financial product and more like a built-in workplace service.
The first product expected to launch through the marketplace in summer 2026 is ‘スマートHR Pregnancy and Childcare Insurance.’ The insurance is designed around pregnancy and childbirth-related medical risks, including postpartum depression and home bed rest. Employees will be able to apply directly through the platform using their smartphones.
Going forward, both companies plan to expand into life insurance, non-life insurance, and personalized insurance recommendations based on employee life stages and employment data. The larger play here is obvious. HR platforms are slowly turning into financial and operational ecosystems instead of staying limited to payroll and workforce management.
