Hanover Bancorp, Inc. Has grown on Long Island by opening a full-service Hanover Community Bank branch in Riverhead, New York. The branch is at 205 Osborn Avenue. It is Hanover’s branch and helps Hanover spread further in Suffolk County.
The announcement on October 6 happened while Riverhead is still rebuilding and growing economically. Hanover said this new branch will help people, businesses, city groups and other customers in Riverhead.
New Riverhead Location Serves Multiple Banking Segments
The Riverhead branch works as a full-service bank and a business banking center. It gives personal, business and city banking services. Dedicated business bankers will work with companies.
Hanover offers products such as consumer and commercial loans, mortgages, home loans, business loans and lines of credit. Hanover also gives mobile banking services together with its physical branches.
The new branch lets local businesses talk to bankers who work in the Riverhead market instead of only using central or remote services.
Expanding Hanovers Suffolk County Presence
The Riverhead branch is Hanover’s branch in Suffolk County after branches in Hauppauge and Port Jefferson. Hanover also has branches over New York City and one in Freehold, New Jersey.
Hanover Chairman and CEO Michael P. Puorro said that Hanover sees Riverhead as a part of its Long Island plan pointing to chances with local businesses, families, community groups and public institutions.
Hanover’s growth happens while the banking industry is merging, which has lowered the number of local banks in some places. Local news, about the Riverhead opening said that Hanover is moving into a market where some local banks have merged or closed.
Physical Branches Stay Important for Business Banking
The expansion also shows that banking locations are still important even though the industry is moving more toward services.
For customers, mobile banking and online account management have made it less necessary to go to branches for tasks. Business customers however often need complicated services like commercial loans, credit options, treasury help and personal financial advice.
A physical business center can offer a place to get these services for small and mid-sized companies that are looking for financing or banking relationships.
The Hanover Riverhead location is therefore not seen as a retail branch but as a business banking center that is meant to help commercial activity in the nearby area.
Technology and Local Banking Plan
Hanover calls itself a community bank that brings decisions together with modern banking technology. Its services include banking as well as regular branch and ATM access.
This mix shows a plan that many community banks are using: keeping connections while using digital tools for regular banking.
For businesses this way of working can give access to payment and account tools while still having help from banking experts, for loans and other financial choices.
The Riverhead expansion also gives Hanover a presence in Suffolk County at a time when local economic development is creating opportunities for banks seeking relationships with small businesses, property owners and municipal organizations.
The opening of the branch represents another step in Hanover Bancorps Long Island expansion with the bank using Riverhead as a base to deepen its presence, in Suffolk County and compete for both consumer and commercial banking relationships.
