Japan Business Systems Co., Ltd. and Sakura Internet Inc. have concluded a basic agreement (hereinafter “this agreement”) regarding activities to jointly promote the digitalization of administrative systems.
This agreement was concluded with the aim of promoting the cloud migration and digitalization of business systems in administrative organizations, including local governments, by combining Sakura Internet’s public cloud “Sakura Cloud,” which has been conditionally certified as a government cloud, with JBS’s technical support capabilities as a cloud integrator.
The two companies will strengthen the promotion of DX in administrative systems through marketing activities such as providing co-creation solutions to local governments, holding seminars, and exhibiting at trade shows.

JBS and Sakura Internet will collaborate, leveraging their respective expertise and technological capabilities to the fullest extent, to build and maintain information infrastructure for government and public services that combines sustainability and a high level of security.
Background leading to the signing of the agreement
The government has set a target of completing by the end of fiscal year 2025 its efforts to unify and standardize the systems of all local governments based on the Government Cloud, a common cloud platform, in order to realize a digital society.
Based on its “Priority Plan for Realizing a Digital Society”, the Digital Agency has selected several public clouds as government clouds to provide a safe and rational usage environment. Among them, “Sakura Cloud” provided by Sakura Internet is the only domestically produced public cloud to be conditionally certified as a government cloud.
Some of the peripheral functions in “Sakura Cloud” will utilize third-party products such as Microsoft’s. The aim of this collaboration, as outlined in this agreement, is to further strengthen the promotion of DX (Digital Transformation) for government agencies by combining the knowledge, experience, and technical capabilities of both Sakura Internet and JBS, which has strengths in Microsoft’s cloud solutions.
Government Cloud refers to a cloud service environment that provides a common platform and functions for the information systems of various ministries and agencies and local governments. The Digital Agency aims to use Government Cloud to reduce the human resource burden on local governments, allowing them to focus on improving resident services tailored to local circumstances, and to enable the rapid deployment of new services.
With a view to realizing highly reliable and convenient administrative services in Japanese society, 日米協会 そして さくらインターネット will jointly conduct marketing activities targeting local governments and public organizations, responding to the latent needs of local governments and other administrative agencies and public organizations, and promoting and supporting the cloud migration and digitalization of business systems.
