TOPPAN Edge Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings, along with V-cube Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary Telecube Co., Ltd., have announced the launch of “CloakOne® Gate,” a mobile facial recognition system designed for all-weather conditions. This smart solution uses facial recognition for access control in outdoor and semi-outdoor settings. It’s perfect for places like factory gates, plant entrances, and construction sites. Development of the product is led by TOPPAN Edge and Telecube, while all three companies will oversee sales.
Addressing Security Challenges in Outdoor Access Control
Due to a rising focus on security in companies, stricter access controls are needed for manufacturing plants, offices, and construction sites. Facial recognition technology is becoming popular. It offers strong security and is easy for users. Many access points sit outdoors. Factors like strong sunlight or dim lighting can affect how well facial recognition works.
Traditional visitor management at factories often uses paper forms. This makes it hard to digitize, manage data, and process information efficiently. During maintenance, many outside contractors come and go quickly. This makes checking identities and handling application forms slow and error-prone.
A Technological Solution: “CloakOne® Gate”
TOPPAN Edge and Telecube have teamed up to create “CloakOne® Gate.” They used TOPPAN Edge’s facial recognition skills from the “CloakOne® Face” service. They also drew on Telecube’s know-how with the “Telecabin®,” a mobile booth that works in any weather.” This system uses facial recognition in a secure, mobile booth. It ensures reliable access control, even in tough outdoor settings.
With the launch of “CloakOne® Gate,” TOPPAN Edge, V-cube, and Telecube aim to enhance security and streamline access management for businesses operating in diverse and demanding locations.
