SORACOM Inc. will begin offering a new service called “SORACOM First-Time Support,” which allows companies considering introducing IoT to consult with technical advisors with IoT knowledge about technical issues and configurations in the early stages of a project.
In recent years, IoT has been used to streamline and automate operations in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, construction, logistics, and retail. However, in the early stages of IoT projects, which require comprehensive technical knowledge of hardware, communications, cloud, and applications, many companies have expressed concerns such as, “We have an idea for using IoT, but we are stuck at the stage of considering the technical configuration,” or “We want to consult with external experts because we are starting with a small team.”
Soracom has been providing support to projects from a position similar to that of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) through “SORACOM Professional Services.” Based on that knowledge, we will now start offering “SORACOM First-Time Support” as an easy-to-use advisory support for the early phase of projects.

In the “SORACOM First Time Support” program, SORACOM technical advisors will provide individual consultations through online meetings up to twice a month (1 hour each time). Companies considering introducing IoT will be able to consult on issues that they often face in the early stages of a project, such as selecting sensors and IoT devices, choosing a communication method (cellular, LPWA, etc.), cloud configuration, and how to proceed with an IoT project according to their objectives. After the meeting, a report will be created using generative AI, and the key points will be summarized and provided.
By using this support plan, companies starting IoT projects can resolve their technical concerns, organize the technical elements required for an IoT system, and take the first step toward smooth implementation and demonstration.
SORACOM will contribute to social and business innovation together with its customers and partner companies in order to make IoT more accessible to everyone.
