Schneider Electric released “PowerChute Network Shutdown v5.2,” the latest version of “PowerChute Network Shutdown,” a software product for medium- to large-scale environments in the “PowerChute” UPS management software series. PowerChute Network Shutdown is UPS management software for office server rooms and data centers . It communicates with UPSs over the network and automatically shuts down servers in the event of a power failure, helping to ensure stable operation of corporate IT infrastructure.

The new version adds new features aimed at improving manageability and operational efficiency in virtual environments. It adds a virtual machine priority setting function compatible with Microsoft Hyper-V and Azure Stack HCI environments, allowing users to set virtual machine shutdown and startup priorities from within the PowerChute interface. The bulk support log export function now makes it easy to obtain multiple logs required for troubleshooting from the Help tab. The detailed output function for Windows Event Viewer, added in the previous version, further expands the Windows event log output function added in the previous version, outputting event levels and event IDs with numbering to provide detailed information such as UPS-related and environment-related information.
