Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. has begun offering the shift optimization solution “CYTIS Shift for Logistics,” a SaaS-based business application that standardizes warehouse operations and optimizes manpower planning.
Kao also announces that it has completed implementation of this service at all 44 of its logistics centers.
In today’s logistics industry, there is a chronic labor shortage and rising labor and logistics costs, which has led to a demand for greater efficiency in warehouse operations. Furthermore, with each employee having different skills, job content, and working conditions, it is difficult to accurately grasp the increasingly complex situation on-site, and the time taken for indirect tasks such as work plans and shift creation has been an issue in improving productivity and profit margins.
The shift optimization solution “CYTIS Shift for Logistics” uses AI (mathematical optimization) to level out operations (peak distribution), and automatically creates optimal staffing and shifts by taking into account forecast data on inbound and outbound cargo volumes, work productivity, order, and work constraints such as maximum and minimum number of people for each task, as well as various working conditions of employees.
