Nippon Express Co., Ltd., a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS Holdings Co., Ltd., released a new AI-based shipment prediction service for “DCX (Digital Commerce Transformation),” a logistics web app for D2C (Direct to Consumer).
Appropriate inventory management is essential for operating an e-commerce site and for smooth deliveries to business partners. In order to prevent excess inventory due to unsold goods and lost sales opportunities due to out-of-stock items, it is necessary to calculate optimal order quantities based on past shipping records. However, traditional management methods often involve personal work that relies on years of experience and intuition, making accuracy and efficiency an issue.
To address these issues, Nippon Express has been providing DCX, a logistics web app that allows businesses promoting D2C to check shipment and receipt history and inventory details in real time since April 2023. Now, the company has developed a new AI-based shipping prediction service that utilizes accumulated past shipping data.
