Hitachi Industry & Control Solutions Co., Ltd. announced that it will begin selling the new version of its facility and asset management system, “SmartFAM Ver.4,” in April, which will centrally manage facility maintenance information using a digital ledger.
SmartFAM Ver.4 adds a generation AI linkage function (function to support recovery and measures for faulty equipment). Based on the text-formatted performance information on maintenance work that customers have accumulated so far, such as failures that necessitate equipment stoppage and sudden damage due to aging, it is now possible to obtain answers from the generation AI and display similar failure information and recovery measures information from past events. This will help young and mid-level engineers on-site to restore equipment without having to receive one-by-one guidance from experienced engineers. In addition, when transferring data held by SmartFAM to other systems, it was previously necessary to do so in a standard format. SmartFAM Ver.4 has enhanced system linkage functions, making it possible to define data input and output, such as information on spare parts used in maintenance, order request information, and work request information, in accordance with the format of the other system.
The maintenance planning function has been enhanced to include a function that plans schedules according to the previous maintenance cycle, as well as a function that reviews the timing of maintenance based on schedules and actual data, making it possible to implement, postpone, or advance maintenance plans for equipment for each factory and production line. The system setting function has been enhanced to match “things” and “events” to the target business when the system is introduced and operated, and two modes have been set up: “simple mode” that allows even young and mid-level engineers to easily change system settings, and “advanced mode” that allows more detailed system settings for experienced engineers. This makes it possible to set up the system to suit a variety of engineer levels.
In terms of design, the screen design has been renewed and operability has been improved to take into account the usage scenarios of customers. In addition, the system is now compatible with multiple devices, making it possible to input maintenance data using smartphones and tablets. Prices for SmartFAM Ver.4 are quoted individually. Hitachi Industry & Control aims to sell 600 systems by fiscal 2026 to domestic and overseas manufacturing companies, as well as companies in the water supply and sewerage, roads, and other fields.
