Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. and iPX Inc., a provider of 3D simulation services for manufacturing and logistics, signed a capital and business alliance agreement in February 2025. Through this alliance, the two companies will combine their respective digital technologies to promote digital transformation (DX) in the manufacturing and logistics fields and accelerate business expansion.
In recent years, the manufacturing and logistics industries have faced the challenge of labor shortages due to the declining birthrate and aging population, and there is a need to transform traditional work methods that rely on experience and intuition into new methods that utilize digital technology and highly integrate people, machines, and systems. In addition, it is necessary to introduce new technologies while minimizing risks at manufacturing and logistics sites, and the “industrial metaverse” is attracting attention as it reduces lead times and costs by simulating actual work environments and processes in a virtual space called the “metaverse” on the Internet.
In this context, DNP has developed “DNP Annealing Software (DAS) business , which utilizes XR (Extended Reality) technology to support marketing and business efficiency for companies and local governments . iPX has strengths in engineering and digital transformation support for the manufacturing and logistics industries, including a reporting service for simulation results using its proprietary real-time 3D simulation software for factories and warehouses.
